What is Ayurveda and how it is connected with Yoga
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian medical system.
The term Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word that means “science of life”; it treats some illness and also deals with prevention in order to maintain health.
Yoga is an ancient Indian system of principles and practices, which focus on physical and mental well-being and includes postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), energy regulation techniques (mudra and bandha), chanting (mantra) and meditation.
Ayurveda includes the practice of yoga; we can say Ayurveda is the science, and Yoga is the tool to practice the science.
Both Ayurveda and yoga are based upon the principles of five elements (fire, air, space, earth, water) with all things in nature are made up, and they both aim to achieve the energy balance of these elements within the individual to ensure a state of physical and mental wellbeing.
